Faaallujaaaaah

Well, it probably wasn't a very good idea to go out and seige a city. And if we were going to seige a city, we could have at least chosen a better city... And there could have been better motives. I mean, just because four people die who really don't have anything to do with America, except for their payroll, it doesn't mean that we should get all upset, and attack an uneventful little city. Why couldn't we blame Russia for it and start a siege on Moscow?? That would be pretty darn exciting, and it's actually a well known city, which means that they might put up a fight and give the Americans something to do. Hmmm... Maybe we have been overlooking the Russians in this war... Maybe their the ones who are doing all of this insurgency!!! Just to make sure they don't so something to us first, we should probably bomb them with a couple hundred bombs...
So as to include our book, I'll mention that it is a bit unnecessary to have children killed, and a wedding party raided... There are certain things that people should definitely avoid in an occupation, and those would probably be up there on the list. Also, not letting relief supplies in is a sure way to annoy people... Using illegal substances isn't too aweful, but if America did, they should at least make an attempt to logically explain it. Then again, "insurgents" are a good enough reason for anything right?

Farewell

I submit this post as a last tribute to our student teacher Mr. Vantassel. He left without saying goodbye, and will never be seen again in the halls of Rustified learning. His quirky sense of humor, and odd styles will be missed among the ranks of mocking students unaware of the difficulty of teaching people just a couple of years younger than you. We thank you for your dedication and time. Goodbye Vantassel.

The VP Debate: Who REALLY won???

The first article I looked at was:
http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ODQ0NWQzODAyMWFlYTkzMDRiYmYzNDU4OWE3M2YzZDY=&w=MQ==
And the second I looked at was:
http://www.thenation.com/blogs/thebeat/367825

According to the first Palin won, and according to the second Biden "did what he was supposed to". It looks like, even though Palin was projected to be trampled, through a clever display of friendliness, rather than knowledge, she held her ground. Of course, she didn't help out McCain very much... Which, according to the second article, is what the VPs are supposed to do.

Another Article

Here's one more article that was interesting...  http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/01/zelizer.senate/index.html
He makes a good point that it is better to have presidential candidates that are in power positions now, so we can see how they vote, and have that help us know what they stand for (more honestly).  B/c voting on something is more permanent than just saying, "Of course I would vote for this!"  The problems arise when those votes start to contradict what they already said, b/c its better for their public view if they vote the way they do.  it adds interest to a campaign.

Article

I found an article about voting while looking online... http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=596&sid=1484982 This problem had better get fixed before the election, b/c if it happens at this level, and thousands of votes are added by a computer that is malfunctioning, then I wouldn't like to know what would happen on a National level to votes.

Government

These next few weeks are going to be quite interesting, what with all of the competition with the election drawing near.
